SOLUTIONS FOR COMPLEX EYE CONDITIONS

  • Dry Eyes and Contact Lenses: For those with Dry Eye Syndrome, Health Today offers lenses made from materials that help retain moisture, including daily disposables and gas permeable (GP) lenses that minimize dryness and discomfort.
  • Toric Lenses for Astigmatism: Our toric lenses are specifically designed to correct astigmatism, providing a stable and clear vision. We ensure a precise fit to prevent lens rotation, a common issue for astigmatic patients.
  • Contact Lenses for Keratoconus and GPC: For conditions like Keratoconus and Giant Papillary Conjunctivitis (GPC), we recommend rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses or specially designed soft lenses to reduce irritation and improve vision clarity.
  • Post-Surgical Contact Lenses: Patients who've undergone LASIK or other refractive surgeries and experience residual vision issues may benefit from our custom-fit RGPs or soft lenses designed to address post-surgical challenges.

Did You Know Alberta Health Care Covers Eye Exams?

Ages 0-18: AHS covers one annual eye exam for all children. Additional coverage for medical needs is possible; speak with your optometrist for more.
Ages 19-64: Eye exams are not covered, but check with your insurance or our visit us at Health Today for possible billing options.
Ages 65+: AHS covers one annual eye exam, with potential additional coverage for specific medical conditions; speak with your optometrist for more.
Note: Urgent eye care and infections are covered*; no referral is needed.
