Bifocal & Progressive Lenses

Summary Content

As we age, the natural ability of our eyes to focus on close objects gradually diminishes, a condition commonly referred to as presbyopia, typically starting around the age of 40. Health Today offers advanced solutions for this age-related vision change through high-quality bifocal and progressive lenses. Bifocal lenses feature two distinct viewing areas for distance and near vision, separated by a visible line. Progressive lenses, on the other hand, provide a seamless transition between multiple fields of vision within a single lens, eliminating the line and offering a more modern solution for clear vision at all distances. We proudly carry top brands such as Nikon, Hoya, and Essilor, ensuring our customers receive the best progressive lenses available.

ADAPTING TO YOUR NEW PROGRESSIVE LENSES

Adjusting to progressive lenses can take some time, but with a few tips and practices, you can make the transition smoothly and enjoy the wide range of vision benefits these lenses offer:

  • Start Fresh: Begin wearing your new progressives in the morning when your eyes are rested.
  • Adjust Your Gaze: Learn to look through the appropriate part of the lens - top for distance, middle for computer or intermediate vision, and bottom for reading.
  • Head Movement: Use slight head movements to look through different parts of the lens rather than just moving your eyes.
  • Nose Direction: Point your nose towards what you want to see, ensuring you're looking through the correct part of the lens.
  • Stair Navigation: When using stairs, slightly tilt your head down and look through the top section of your lenses to ensure safety and clear vision.

These tips can help minimize initial discomfort such as dizziness or the feeling of swimming at the lens edges, common when adjusting to progressives.
